National Poetry Month (21) – When we have nothing to say

When we have nothing to say,

Should we say something-

To fill the void left

In voiceless space?

When we have nothing to say,

Do we acknowledge nothing

Is sometimes just as important

As something?

When we have nothing to say,

Could it mean something

Deep down inside yearns

To remain hidden?

When we have nothing to say,

Where do we turn

To find the words

We need to say?

When we have nothing to say,

Can a voice rise again

From within a tortured soul

Broken by the world?
