National Poetry Month (4) – Harder Than You Think

Sometimes,

Writing poetry

Is much harder

Than one thinks.

Being asked to share

Words with another,

For another,

Because of another

Blocks all thought

And the words

Remain locked inside.

Rather than coming forth

As ink flows from a pen,

They fight and resist

Causing one to question

Whether the words were

Ever really

There.
