National Poetry Month (1) – A Book E. D.

I will not let the fact that I didn’t publish this post on April 1st get me down. My intent was to start on April 1st and post a poem or something poetry related once a day for the month of April in celebration of National Poetry Month. So, today I shall post two 🙂 !

The first poem I chose is one of my favorites from my favorite poet:

A Book

There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!

-Emily Dickinson
